My Review about the story of FRAY BOTOD

FRAY BOTOD

by: Graciano Lopez Jaena

Graciano Lopez Jaena is considered as a Father of the revolution against Spanish rule. Jaena left the Phillipines in 1880, shortly after the publication of "Fray Botod". Fray Botod, meaning Big Bllied Friar, is a character sketch written by Graciano Lopez Jaena in 1874 when he was only 18 years old.

In this story says that the priest is the one who shows all the people what his attitude in our country. He is being a priest who abusive, cruel, lazy, indifferent, greedy and lustful. He particularly abhorred the abuses and greediness of the friars that his first written work was against this group of people.

In our time today, many citizens do not allow themselves to abuse, and display incompetence as a human being because of the paradoxes of the parish priest as he was giving reasons for the people to fight and not to blame those who did nothing but to make the other people.
